Suneel Kumar Mehta appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Coal India

SK Mehta, who is currently serving as General Manager (Finance) of Coal India Limited, has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company

New Delhi: Suneel Kumar Mehta has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Coal India Limited (CIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Coal. He has been appointed to the post in place of S Ghatak Choudhry, who would be superannuating from the services on December 31. According to the company's regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, Mehta has been appointed as CFO of CIL with effect from January 1, 2022, till the appointment of a regular Director (Finance). He is currently serving as General Manager (Finance) in the same organisation.

Mehta is a Chartered Accountant and Company Secretary by profession. He completed B Com St Xavier College in Ranchi. He Joined CIL's Headquarters in 2013 on promotion to Chief Manager (Finance) and served in the Marketing and Sales Department covering aspects such as MIS reporting, preparation of FSA, pricing of coal and regulation of RSO offices. He was promoted to the post of General Manager (Finance) in 2019. The contribution in core finance includes HOD of Vendor Bill section, Establishment section, internal audit and currently serving as HOD of Central Accounts & Taxation Department.

Prior to joining Coal India's Headquarters in Kolkata, he had worked Coal India's Moonidih Project and Coal Indian arm Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL).
