New Delhi: Trishaljit Sethi (IPoS) has been given additional charge of Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) of Steel Authority of India (SAIL), a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Steel. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Government has been approved the proposal for entrustment of the additional charge of the post of CVO of SAIL to Trishaljit Sethi (IPoS) for a period of one year from the date of assumption of the charge of the post or till the appointment of a regular CVO or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Sethi is an Indian Postal Service (IPoS) of 1990-batch. She is currently serving as CVO of NTPC Limited, a Maharatna PSU under the Ministry of Power, since January this year.

Steel Authority of India (SAIL)

Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) is an Indian state-owned steel making company based in New Delhi. SAIL is a Maharatna PSU under the administrative control of the Ministry of Steel. The company was incorporated on January 24, 1974. With an annual production of 16.30 million metric tons, SAIL is the 20th largest steel producer in the world and the 3rd largest in India. The hot metal production capacity of the company will further increase and is expected to reach a level of 50 million tonnes per annum by 2025. SAIL operates and owns 5 integrated steel plants at Bhilai, Rourkela, Durgapur, Bokaro and Burnpur (Asansol) and 3 special steel plants at Salem, Durgapur and Bhadravathi. It also owns a Ferro Alloy plant at Chandrapur. As a part of its global ambition, the company is undergoing a massive expansion and modernisation programme involving upgrading and building new facilities with an emphasis on the state of the art green technology.
