New Delhi: National Aluminium Company (NALCO) on Monday said that its two directors, i.e. Director (Projects & Technical) MP Misra and Director ((Production) Bijay Kumar Das have been given additional responsibility. In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, the mining PSU informed that the Ministry of Mines has assigned the additional charge of the post of Director (Finance) to Mishra and the additional charge of the post of Director (Commercial) to Das. Both the directors have been assigned the additional charge for a period with effect from March 1, till the respective regular incumbents join NALCO or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Earlier, NALCO's former Director (Commercial) PK Mishra was entrusted with the additional charge of Director (Finance) from December 1, 2020, till his superannuation on February 28 this year.
Mishra is a mechanical engineering graduate from UCE Burla (now Veer the Surendra Sai University of Technology). He started his career with NALCO as Graduate Engineer Trainee in 1984. During his long service association of more than three decades with NALCO, Mishra has served in various capacities in Production and Business Development and has contributed significantly to the execution of various projects and plant operations, before his elevation as Executive Director (S&P) in April 2019.
Das is an Engineering Graduate in Mechanical Engineering from NIT, Rourkela. He started his career with NALCO as a Graduate Engineer Trainee in 1984. He was posted in the company's captive power plant in Angul since the inception of the project, where he held different key positions before taking over the challenging assignment of Business Development of the company. He subsequently took over as General Manager (Corporate Planning & Strategic Management) to plan and strategise the growth path of the company before being elevated to Executive Director (Projects).
National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), incorporated in 1981, is a Navratna PSU, having integrated and diversified operations in mining, metal and power under the Ministry of Mines. It is one of the largest integrated Bauxite-Alumina-Aluminium-Power complex in the country, encompassing bauxite mining, alumina refining, aluminium smelting and casting, power generation, rail and port operations.
