VK Sharma appointed as Director (Operations) of NPCIL

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of VK Sharma to the post of Director (Operations) of NPCIL

New Delhi: VK Sharma has been appointed as Director (Operations) of Nuclear Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL), a Govt organisation under the Department of Atomic Energy. According to an order from the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT), the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Sharma to the post of Director (Operations) of NPCIL with effect from the date of his assumption of charge of the post on or after June 1, 2022, till the date of his superannuation i.e. till December 31, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He serves as an Outstanding Scientist in the same organisation.

Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is a Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), Government of India. The company was registered as a public limited company with the objectives of operating atomic power plants and implementing atomic power projects for generation of electricity in pursuance of the schemes and programmes of the Government of India under the Atomic Energy Act, 1962. NPCIL also has equity participation in BHAVINI, another PSU of the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) which implements the Fast Breeder Reactors programme in the country.
