Yadadri Thermal station: NBCC awards civil work contracts worth Rs 144 cr

NBCC (India) Limited has awarded two civil work contracts worth about Rs 144 crore to two private companies, Backbone Construction Pvt Ltd and Hayagrev Civil Engineering Private Limited for the construction of Yadadri Thermal Power Station

New Delhi: NBCC (India) Limited, a blue-chip Navratna PSU, on Thursday announced that it has awarded two large civil works contracts a total worth about Rs 144 crore to two private construction firms namely Backbone Construction Pvt Ltd and Hayagrev Civil Engineering Private Limited for the construction of Yadadri Thermal Power Station.

The first earthwork contract, which includes PCC, RCC Raft foundation & civil package (Excluding PCC of Raft FDN) for superstructure including RCC shell, platforms, painting & other Misc. works for construction of cooling tower (NDCT) CT-1 for (5×800 MW) Yadadri Thermal Power Station of Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO), being developed by BHEL to for a total contract value of Rs 45.27 crore to Backbone Construction Pvt Ltd.

Further, the 2nd earthwork contract, which includes PCC, RCC Raft foundation & civil package (Excluding PCC of Raft FDN) for superstructure including RCC shell, platforms, painting & other Misc. works for construction of cooling tower (NDCT) CT-3 and CT-5 of the same project for a total contract value of Rs 98.75 crore to Hayagrev Civil Engineering Private Limited.

Yadadri Thermal Power Plant

Yadadri Thermal Power Plant or Yadadri TPS is an upcoming 4,000 megawatt, supercritical thermal power project coming up at Dameracherla, Nalgonda district in Telangana. The project is the second-largest in South India, at a cost of Rs 25,099 crores and is expected to complete by October 2021 in a phased manner.
