The Rs 1,216.90 crore expansion project includes a world-class terminal building, a multi-level car parking facility, and six additional parking bays. Once operational, the 65,155 sq. m. terminal will accommodate 3,000 passengers during peak hours, enhancing the airport’s annual capacity from 3 million to 10 million passengers.

Equipped with advanced passenger amenities like 54 check-in counters, five boarding bridges, and five conveyor belts, the terminal also boasts a GRIHA IV-star rating. Inspired by the architecture of Nalanda ruins, the interiors will feature traditional Madhubani artwork.

Kumar instructed the Airport Director to ensure seamless coordination with state authorities and regulatory bodies, including DGCA and BCAS, to secure necessary approvals for timely commissioning.
