New Delhi: The Airports Authority of India (AAI) celebrated its 30th Annual Day on April 1, 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, highlighting its contributions to India's aviation sector. The event was attended by Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu as the Chief Guest, alongside senior government officials and AAI leadership.
Addressing the gathering, AAI Chairman Vipin Kumar emphasized the organization’s achievements, including the rise in operational airports from 74 to 159 over the past decade and its commitment to sustainability, with 75 airports operating on 100 percent green energy. He also announced that AAI recorded its highest-ever profit of Rs 6,711 crore in FY 2024-25.
Naidu outlined AAI’s Rs 25,000 crore capital expenditure plan for FY 2024-29, aimed at meeting growing aviation demands. He also announced the development of 50 new airports in the next five years and highlighted initiatives like RCS-UDAN, DigiYatra, and UdanYatri Café to enhance accessibility and efficiency in air travel.
A key moment of the event was the felicitation of the Prayagraj Airport team for managing the surge in passengers during MahaKumbh 2025. Additionally, the AAI Commercial Manual 2025 was officially released to enhance operational efficiency.
The celebrations featured cultural performances and a musical concert by playback singer Shreya Ghoshal. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Dr. H. Srinivas, Member (HR), reaffirming AAI’s commitment to modernizing India's aviation infrastructure.
