The agreement brings together BEML Ltd, Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board (APMB), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Umeandus Technologies India Pvt. Ltd. (UTIPL), who will collaborate as a Port Alliance to conceptualise, design and implement the proposed Enhanced Freight Transport System (e-FTS). Under the arrangement, APMB will serve as the client, while DMRC, acting as the lead member, along with BEML and UTIPL, will jointly execute the pilot project.

The e-FTS solution is envisioned as a technologically advanced system that will automate cargo movement, enable real-time monitoring and significantly improve handling efficiency at Machilipatnam Port. The initiative is expected to strengthen port operations, reduce turnaround time and position the port as a future-ready maritime logistics hub.
