BEML launches long reach excavator with dredge pump to boost dredging capabilities

New Delhi: BEML Limited has launched a Long Reach Excavator integrated with a dredge pump at its Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) complex, marking a significant step towards strengthening India’s dredging and desilting capabilities for inland waterways and coastal infrastructure.

The company said it is the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India to offer an excavator integrated with a dredge pump, developed in collaboration with Dragflow S.r.l., Italy. The equipment is designed for efficient removal of silt and sediment from rivers, canals, reservoirs, mines, and coastal areas.

The solution features enhanced reach, operational flexibility and cost-effectiveness, along with ease of deployment, making it suitable for shallow water dredging and desilting operations.

The equipment was launched by Anandji Prasad, Director (Technical–Operations), Western Coalfields Limited, in the presence of Yogananda G. and senior officials from the Indian Navy, WCL and BEML.

The development aligns with the objectives of the India Maritime Vision 2030, aimed at promoting inland waterway development and sustainable water infrastructure.

With this launch, BEML aims to strengthen its presence in the maritime and dredging segment by offering innovative, indigenous solutions to support infrastructure growth.
