New Delhi: State-owned PSUs including, BHEL and BEML along with Spanish company Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles (CAF) expressed their interest to supply coaches and rolling stock for the Bengaluru Suburban Railway Project (BSRP), Rail Infrastructure Development Company (Karnataka) Limited (K-RIDE) said on Wednesday.
As per the news report by Money Control, the first stage of tender or Request for Quote was opened on May 16. The second stage is the Request for Proposal (RFP), which is also known as a financial bid. “Only the bidders shortlisted in the RFQ will be allowed to participate in the stage. Based on the financial proposal, the lowest bidder will be awarded the contract to supply and maintain the trains and to deploy trained crew," said a K-RIDE official.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation for the BSRP on June 21, 2022, and set a deadline of 40 months to complete the project. K-RIDE is a joint venture of the Karnataka government and the Railways Ministry.
