BPCL extends its partnership with IONAGE to strengthen India's EV charging ecosystem

BPCL has announced the extension of its partnership with IONAGE to enhance the accessibility and convenience of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across India

New Delhi: Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) has announced the extension of its partnership with IONAGE to enhance the accessibility and convenience of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure across India.

IONAGE, eMobility service provider based in Bangalore, aggregates charging stations from various Charge Point Operators (CPOs), allowing customers to access a vast network of EV chargers through a single platform, significantly increasing ease of use for EV owners nationwide.

The success of BPCL’s BPC eDrive Initiative, launched in February 2022, has led to the extension of the partnership, which will integrate BPCL’s EV chargers into Ionage’s unified platform.

Speaking about the collaboration and the aim towards enhancing the EV Charging accessibility in India, BPCL's Business Head (Retail) Pardeep Goyal said, “We are pleased to extend our partnership with IONAGE, At BPCL, accessibility and convenience of customers is of prime importance for utilization of charging infra. Our collaboration with IONAGE will enable customers to utilize BPC chargers from Ionage’s aggregation platform”

While IONAGE CEO Vimal Kumar added that, "At IONAGE, our vision is to create a cohesive and comprehensive ecosystem that supports the needs of all electric vehicle owners and operators. And in line with this vision, we are happy to have extended our partnership with a robust and well-respected brand like BPCL, who not only offers fast EV charging facilities on highways, but also offers the secure place to unwind and take breaks. This is a significant step towards making EV charging more accessible and reliable across India."

The agreement has been signed by BPCL's Chief General Manager Marketing (Retail) S Kannan and IONAGE's Chief Executive Officer Vimal Kumar in the presence of Goyal on Friday.
