The IFTV service, which offers over 500 live TV channels, including premium channels, will be available to BSNL’s Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) users in the region at no additional cost. Following the success of its pilot launch in Puducherry, this is the first rollout of the service in Uttar Pradesh. This initiative underscores BSNL’s commitment to integrating cutting-edge entertainment solutions into the everyday lives of its users.

BSNL’s IFTV provides users with unlimited entertainment, offering access to live TV, movies, web series, and documentaries in multiple languages without any charges. The service leverages BSNL’s secure mobile intranet to deliver uninterrupted streaming with exceptional video quality. After the UP East pilot, BSNL plans to roll out IFTV in Maharashtra, Bihar, and Jharkhand by February 2025, with nationwide availability to follow.

Commenting on the launch, BSNL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) A Robert J. Ravi, I.T.S., said, “With IFTV, we are empowering customers to access entertainment on the go, ‘anytime, anywhere,’ free of cost. This service replaces outdated PRBT systems with a groundbreaking entertainment solution, combining state-of-the-art technology with premium content. BSNL is proud to be one of the first telecom service providers to revolutionize this space.”

In collaboration with BSNL, OTTplay—a leading OTT aggregator and AI-driven content discovery platform—brings its expertise in curated digital content to enhance the IFTV experience. Avinash Mudaliar, Co-founder and CEO of OTTplay, stated, “We are excited to partner with BSNL to bring world-class entertainment to users across India. This innovation redefines how BSNL customers experience digital entertainment by offering cinema and content across genres, languages, and regions.”

The BSNL-OTTplay partnership aims to promote digital inclusion by combining BSNL’s extensive network reach with OTTplay’s rich content library. Together, the two organizations are fostering connectivity in both rural and urban areas, paving the way for a digitally connected India where every citizen can access quality services seamlessly.
