CBI arrests CGHS additional director, aide in bribery case

The CBI has arrested a CGHS Additional Director and her assistant for taking a bribe in a transfer case

New Delhi:The CBI has arrested Additional Director, CGHS, Meerut, Natasha Verma and her Private Assistant in a bribery case, officials said Friday. The CBI had registered the case against Verma for demanding the bribe of Rs 80,000 on behalf of officers for facilitating the transfer of a CGHS staff from Moradabad to Meerut, they said.

"The CBI laid a trap. During the trap proceedings, both the accused, Private Assistant and Additional Director, agreed to accept the bribe amount of Rs 50,000 from the complainant and subsequently Private Assistant was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe amount of Rs 50,000 on behalf of Additional Director, CGHS," the CBI spokesperson said in a statement.

"Both the accused persons, the Additional Director and her Private Assistant have been arrested by the CBI," the official said.
