CESL partners with DDA to expand EV charging infrastructure in Delhi

CESL has signed an agreement with DDA to establish electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping stations across DDA sports complexes in Delhi

New Delhi: The Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) and Delhi Development Authority (DDA) have signed an agreement to establish electric vehicle (EV) charging and battery swapping stations across DDA sports complexes in Delhi. The initiative aims to strengthen the city's EV infrastructure and promote sustainable mobility.

According to an officlal statement, CESL, a subsidiary of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), will develop and operate these charging stations. DDA will provide vacant land at identified locations within its sports complexes, facilitating the expansion of EV infrastructure across North, South, East, and West Delhi.

The agreement has been signed in the presence of key officials, including DDA Vice-Chairman Vijay Kumar Singh; CESL MD & CEO Vishal Kapoor; DDA Principal Commissioner Chittaranjan Dash; and Rajneesh Rana, Head-Convergence. The collaboration is structured under CESL’s Build-Own-Operate-Maintain (BOOM) model, ensuring the long-term sustainability of EV charging solutions.

Commenting on the development, Kapoor stated, “This partnership is a crucial milestone in Delhi’s EV journey. CESL is committed to expanding accessible and reliable EV infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of clean mobility solutions.”

DDA Vice-Chairman Vijay Kumar Singh emphasized DDA’s commitment to urban sustainability, stating, “Integrating EV charging and battery swapping stations within public spaces will contribute to making Delhi a future-ready, environmentally friendly city.”

CESL has already installed 455 charging stations across India, reinforcing its role in driving India’s transition to sustainable transportation.
