New Delhi: Chhattisgarh on Monday commemorated the 25th anniversary of its formation, reflecting on a quarter-century of remarkable growth and development since it was carved out of Madhya Pradesh on November 1, 2000. The Silver Jubilee celebrations showcased the state’s strides in infrastructure, agriculture, industry, and social welfare, emphasizing its emergence as a critical hub in India’s resource-rich heartland.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said, “In 25 years, Chhattisgarh has evolved from a nascent state to a beacon of progress and self-reliance. Our journey has been defined by the empowerment of our tribal communities, expansion of irrigation and energy infrastructure, and the creation of an ecosystem that fosters entrepreneurship and innovation.” He further noted that the government remains committed to inclusive development, balancing industrial growth with environmental sustainability and cultural preservation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi sent a special message praising Chhattisgarh’s achievements, stating, “Chhattisgarh stands as a shining example of how focused governance and the spirit of its people can transform potential into reality. From boosting agricultural production through the Jal Jivan Mission to advancing renewable energy and public health initiatives, the state embodies the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.’” He added that the central government will continue to collaborate with the state for building smart cities, expanding connectivity, and enhancing skill development programs to empower youth.
Since its inception, Chhattisgarh has witnessed exponential growth in per capita income, literacy rates, and infrastructure development, driven by government schemes and private investments. Key projects like the Saur Sujla renewable energy scheme and expansion of road and rail networks have transformed the state’s landscape.
The 25-year milestone serves as both a moment of pride and a call to action for Chhattisgarh to advance towards greater economic diversification, digital transformation, and social equity in the coming decades. The celebrations included cultural events, exhibitions, and the launch of new initiatives aimed at accelerating the state’s growth trajectory.
