Coal ministry auctions one mine on March 2, plans to auction another mine

2 coal mines were put up for auction on Thursday & both coal mines were MMDR coal mines on the 4th day of the e-auction

New Delhi: On the 4th day of the e-auction, two coal mines were put up for auction on Thursday and both coal mines were MMDR coal mines, said the ministry in a statement. "Ministry of Coal had launched the auctions of coal mines for commercial mining under 6th round and second attempt of 5th round on November 03, 2022. Forward auctions for these mines have been started on February 27," it added.

Status of e-auction of Arjuni & Gondbahera Ujheni coal mines in MP

"The e-auction of Arjuni coal mine having PRC of 1.36 MTPA with geographical reserves around 106.124 MT is going on, said the statement. On the other hand, MP Natural Resources Private Limited submitted bidding for Gondbahera Ujheni coal mine having PRC of 4.12 MTPA with geographical reserves of around 672.87 MT and the final price stood at seven percent," the statement added.

Coal mines will generate annual revenue of Rs 620 cr

As per the statement, these coal mines upon operationalisation will generate annual revenue of approximately Rs 620 crores calculated at PRC of these coal mines (excluding Arjuni Eastern Part coal mine). These mines will attract capital investment of approximately Rs 822 crores and will provide employment to approximately 7,409 people.
