Delhi Metro launches Hydrogen-powered shuttle bus service in Delhi’s Central Vista Area

Delhi Metro in collaboration with MoHUA and MoPNG launched an integrated hydrogen-powered shuttle bus service in Delhi’s Central Vista area on Friday

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs and the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas, on Friday launched an integrated hydrogen-powered shuttle bus service in Delhi’s Central Vista area.

The inaugural passenger service was flagged off from the Central Secretariat Metro Station at 8:30 AM with two hydrogen-powered shuttle buses deployed for operations.

During the launch ceremony, the ceremonial keys of the buses were handed over to DMRC Director (Operations and Services) Dr. Amit Kumar Jain by Arvind Kumar in the presence of senior officials from DMRC and Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL).

The initiative marks a step towards promoting clean and sustainable mobility solutions in the national capital, with hydrogen-powered transport being seen as a key component in reducing urban emissions and supporting green energy adoption in public transportation.
