Delhi Metro to resume metro services on Blue & Pink lines from Sep 9

New Delhi: Delhi Metro has resumed its services on Yellow line after a gap 169 days, which were suspended due to Coronavirus (COVID-19) lockdown. As the Metro is seeing a gradual increase in commuters, the company is planning to increase its operations on other lines too. In a statement issued on Tuesday evening, Delhi Metro said, "DMRC will be running 66 trains on Blue line performing around 478 train trips during morning and evening hours on September 9 and 10, 2020." 

"Similarly, 27 trains with approx. 228 trips from Majlis Park to Mayur Vihar Pocket-1 and 13 trains with approx. 291 trips from Trilok Puri-Sanjay Lake to Shiv Vihar sections of Pink line will be put into service on these 2 days. The trips will be subsequently increased as the operational timing of services get extended on 11th & 12th September with the opening of other Lines in a graded manner," the DMRC added.

"As per the latest guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs under Unlock-4, the Delhi Metro will be resuming its services for the public from September 7 onwards in a calibrated manner," the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) had earlier said.
