Domestic aviation touching new heights, 4,22,291 passengers on 2,794 flights on May 5: MoCA

New Delhi: The Ministry of Civil Aviation on Saturday claimed in a tweet that the total passenger count on Friday was 4,22,291 and the number of flights was 2,794. As per the data, the total flight movements were 5,594. Further, the Ministry also posted that "domestic aviation operations are soaring higher."

On May 4, the Ministry reported that a total of 4,22,698 passengers travelled on 2,816 flights. Further, it said that the total flight movements were 5,632.

On May 1, the Ministry said that India's domestic air traffic reached a new height with an all-time high on Sunday when a total of 9,13,336 passengers travelled on 5,947 flights".

On-time performance

As per the data posted by the Ministry on its website, Akasa Air was ranked the best for its on-time performance record of 97.3 percent, followed by Vistara (96.4 percent), IndiGo (93.2 percent), Air Asia India (89.5 percent), Air India (88.5 percent), Go First (83 percent) and SpiceJet (75.6 percent).

Passenger Load Factor

The Passenger Load Factor was higher in Air India, registering a PLF of 94.2 percent followed by Air Asia (93.9 percent), Vistara (93.2 percent), SpiceJet (92.8 percent), IndiGo (92.3 percent) and Akasa Air (91.8 percent).

Air Sewa Grievances

On May 5, 30 Air Sewa Grievances were resolved out of the total 39 grievances received, the data showed.
