Under this agreement, the power will be supplied from DVC’s upcoming Koderma Thermal Power Station Phase-II (2x800 MW), currently under construction. This fresh agreement adds to the existing 450 MW RTC power that Karnataka DISCOMs are already sourcing from DVC, taking the total supply to 750 MW.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior officials from DVC, PCKL, and the five participating Karnataka DISCOMs namely - BESCOM, HESCOM, MESCOM, GESCOM, and CESC. The collaboration has been facilitated by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, and is a part of the broader effort to meet Karnataka’s increasing energy demand through a reliable and affordable power supply.

Commenting on the development, DVC's Member (Finance) Arup Sarkar said, “We are proud to deepen our partnership with Karnataka. This agreement highlights DVC’s capability to deliver dependable power beyond its core region and reinforces our commitment to sustainable energy solutions across India.”

PCKL's Managing Director (MD) Lokhande Snehal Sudhakar, IAS, said, “We are pleased to extend our collaboration with DVC. This agreement ensures consistent power supply at competitive rates and strengthens our energy portfolio.”

Key DVC officials present at the event included Sanjiv Shrivastava, Executive Director (Commercial), Samit Mandal, Sr GM (Commercial), and Prasenjit Mandal, DGM (Commercial), along with senior representatives from PCKL and the DISCOMs.

With the construction of Koderma Thermal Power Station Phase-II and Raghunathpur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) Phase-II already underway, DVC has now secured long-term PPAs for all three of its upcoming projects, which together will add 3,720 MW of new generation capacity to the grid.
