ECL issues appointment letters to 56 candidates under NCWA, R&R Policy

ECL has issued appointment letters to 56 candidates under its Dependent Employment Scheme and Resettlement & Rehabilitation (R&R) Policy

New Delhi: Eastern Coalfields Limited (ECL), a subsidiary of Coal India Limited, has issued appointment letters to 56 candidates under its Dependent Employment Scheme and Resettlement & Rehabilitation (R&R) Policy, reaffirming its commitment to employee welfare and support for project-affected families.

Of the total appointments, 17 candidates were recruited under the Dependent Employment Scheme in line with the provisions of the National Coal Wage Agreement (NCWA), while 39 candidates received employment under ECL's R&R Policy, which is aimed at providing livelihood opportunities to families displaced by mining projects.

The appointment letters were distributed at a ceremony held at ECL's headquarters in Sanctoria, Asansol, in the presence of Director (Finance) Md. Anzar Alam and Director (Human Resources) Gunjan Kumar Sinha.

Senior officials present on the occasion included General Manager (HR) and Head of Recruitment & Employment Dibyajyoti Ghosh, General Manager (HR/IR) Punyadeep Bhattacharya, General Manager (HR/WBE) Nazrul Islam, along with other officers from the company's headquarters and operational areas.

ECL said the appointments are part of its ongoing efforts to implement the provisions of the NCWA and the company's R&R Policy, which provide employment assistance to eligible dependents of employees and families affected by mining projects.

According to the company, the initiative is intended to strengthen social security, support rehabilitation measures and contribute to the socio-economic development of communities associated with its mining operations.
