The agreement has been formalised by EIL’s Director (Commercial) and NPCIL’s Director (Technical) in the presence of EIL Chairperson and Managing Director (CMD) Vartika Shukla and NPCIL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) BC Pathak, along with senior management from both organisations, at NPCIL’s Mumbai office on August 12.

EIL, a PSU under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas (MoPNG), is known for offering end-to-end project solutions across industrial sectors. NPCIL, under the Department of Atomic Energy, is responsible for setting up and operating nuclear power plants in India.

The partnership is aligned with the Government of India’s push to expand nuclear energy capacity as part of the Nuclear Energy Mission for Viksit Bharat. The initiative aims to enhance India’s clean and reliable power generation capabilities, with a target of achieving 100 GW of nuclear power capacity by 2047.

This collaboration marks a significant step towards bolstering India’s energy security and supporting the country’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
