"EIL received the official work order on March 13, 2025. However, clarifications regarding contractual terms were sought from NRL and were subsequently received on March 17, 2025," it added.

The project, classified as a domestic contract, is set to be executed over a period of 36 months at Numaligarh Refinery in Assam. While EIL holds a minority stake in NRL, the contract does not fall within the ambit of related party transactions.

This strategic project is expected to enhance Numaligarh Refinery’s petrochemical capabilities, contributing to India’s self-reliance in polypropylene production. The detailed disclosure regarding this development has been made available on EIL’s investor relations website.
