Gujarat Gas Limited appoints Mona Khandhar (IAS) as Addl Director

Gujarat Gas Limited has appointed Mona Khandhar, lAS, Principal Secretary (EA) Finance Department, as Additional Director on the board

New Delhi: Gujarat Gas Limited, a GPSC group company under the Government of Gujarat stated in a regulatory filing on Tuesday that "the Board of Directors have appointed Mona Khandhar, lAS, Principal Secretary (EA) Finance Department, Government of Gujarat as Additional Director on the Board of Gujarat Gas Limited with effect from February 20."

"The aforesaid appointment has been made in view of the letter received from Finance Department (FD), Government of Gujarat bearing number FD/0196/02/2023 dated February 14, intimating appointment of Mona Khandhar, lAS, Principal Secretary (EA) as Finance Department's Nominee Director on the Board of Gujarat Gas Limited, vice Milind Torawane, lAS, the then Secretary, Finance Department," said the filing.

Further, the filing stated that "Khandhar is not debarred from holding the office of director by virtue of any SEBI order or any other such authority."

Brief Profile

Mona Khandhar is a senior lAS Officer of 1996 batch. She is Mason fellow and MPA (International Economics) from Harvard Kennedy School Harvard University, Bachelor of Commerce from Sydenham College, University of Mumbai. She has held various important positions III the Government of Gujarat in vanous departments. She has served as Secretary (Economic Affairs) in Finance Department, Government of Gujarat. She has also served as Minister (Economics and Commerce) Embassy of lndia, Tokyo.

Presently she is posted as Principal Secretary (Economic Affairs), Government of Gujarat and appointed as Nodal Officer (Head Structure/Anangement) for G-20 Summit.
