New Delhi/Visakhapatnam: Hindustan Shipyard Limited (HSL) has inaugurated an Advanced Welding Simulator and critical infrastructure facilities at Slipway-4 as part of its ongoing 86th Foundation Day celebrations, reinforcing its focus on skill development, technology adoption, and infrastructure modernisation.

The Advanced Welding Simulator was inaugurated at the Hull Shop on June 19 by Commodore Jasvinder Singh, IN (Retd.), Director (Strategic Projects). The facility is aimed at strengthening hands-on training, enhancing welding quality standards, and supporting the adoption of modern shipbuilding technologies. The initiative is expected to further advance HSL’s vision of developing future-ready shipbuilding capabilities.
In another major development, HSL commissioned key infrastructure facilities at Slipway-4 to enhance operational readiness and shipbuilding capacity. Commodore Rakesh Prasad, IN (Retd.), Director (Corporate Planning & Personnel), inaugurated Substation-6, which will provide reliable power supply for the upcoming 300-tonne Goliath Crane operations, the Mega Block area, and other critical shipbuilding activities. The facility is expected to improve production efficiency across the shipyard.
Additionally, Kiran Esanakarla, Director (Finance & Commercial), inaugurated the DA Gas Station, which will streamline industrial gas distribution and facilitate the smooth execution of shipbuilding operations.
