HUDCO to fund infra projects worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore in Mumbai Metropolitan Region

HUDCO has signed an MoU with MMRDA to finance and support infrastructure development projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) worth Rs 1.5 lakh crore

New Delhi: Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) to finance and support infrastructure development projects in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR). The MoU has been signed on April 8 in Mumbai.

Under the agreement, HUDCO has committed to explore and provide financial assistance of up to Rs 1,50,000 crore over a five-year period for infrastructure projects that will be executed by MMRDA. The collaboration also includes provisions for HUDCO to offer consultancy services and capacity-building support to help MMRDA address its evolving project and institutional needs.

The signing ceremony was held in the presence of key dignitaries including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis; Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and HUDCO Chairman and Managing Director Sanjay Kulshrestha.

The MoU marks a significant step towards enhancing urban infrastructure in one of India’s most dynamic and densely populated metropolitan regions, and reflects HUDCO’s ongoing commitment to supporting sustainable urban development across the country.
