In an advisory, the apex body said the strike overlaps with important statutory and regulatory deadlines, including completion of statutory and tax audits and annual general meetings for companies whose applicable due dates fall on September 30.

ICAI asked members to plan their assignments ahead and collect all necessary bank-related information, documents and confirmations to ensure timely completion of compliance work.

“Members may also suitably advise their clients to arrange and provide the requisite banking information and documents at the earliest, so as to avoid any last-minute difficulties and facilitate timely completion of the applicable compliances,” the advisory said.

The institute’s advice comes as more than 1.5 lakh practising chartered accountants handle audit and other professional assignments.
