The session, moderated by Das, brought together leading industry voices including the CEO of NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd Sarit Maheshwari, CEO of WTG Division at Suzlon Energy Vivek Srivastava, and CEO of Adani Green Energy Ltd Ashish Khanna.

In his opening remarks, Das highlighted India’s impressive strides in the renewable energy sector. As of June 2025, the country’s installed renewable energy capacity stood at 234 GW, positioning India as the fourth-largest renewable energy market in the world. Looking ahead, he emphasized the need to scale up this capacity to 485 GW by 2030. Achieving this would require nearly tripling the current annual capacity addition rate from 20–30 GW to 50–60 GW.

The panel deliberated on four core challenges to accelerating renewable energy deployment: enhancing domestic manufacturing through Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM); enabling single-window clearance for land acquisition; expediting transmission grid expansion through proactive planning; and mobilizing investments worth Rs 30–32 lakh crore by 2030 through innovative financing mechanisms.

Das reiterated IREDA’s commitment to supporting this transition through tailored financial solutions and focused sectoral strategies. He affirmed the agency’s leadership role in facilitating India’s green energy transformation.

The session concluded with a unified call for greater collaboration among industry stakeholders, policymakers, and investors to maintain India’s growth trajectory in the renewable energy sector and contribute to the global shift toward sustainable energy.
