India notifies green ammonia, green methanol standards under National Green Hydrogen Mission

New Delhi: REC Limited has committed Rs 11.56 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative for the procurement of clinical and non-clinical equipment for Sankara Eye Hospital in Saharsa, Bihar, aimed at strengthening healthcare infrastructure and improving access to quality eye care services in the region.

The project will be implemented by Sankara Eye Hospital and is expected to enhance the hospital’s capacity to provide specialised and timely eye care services to residents of Saharsa and nearby districts, particularly benefiting economically weaker sections.

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the initiative was signed on March 9, 2026, between REC Executive Director (CSR) Pradeep Fellows and Sankara Eye Hospital Trustee & Executive Director Wg Cdr V. Shankar (Retd). The signing ceremony was held at REC Limited’s office at the SCOPE Complex in New Delhi.

Through the initiative, REC aims to support the expansion of healthcare services in underserved regions by enabling the hospital to procure essential equipment required for clinical and operational purposes.

The company said the project reflects its continued commitment to strengthening public healthcare infrastructure and promoting accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services across the country, particularly in remote and underserved areas.
