IICA & RRU have signed an MoU on Friday to strengthen their collaboration in the areas of capacity building, education, research, and consulting related to internal security, financial crimes

New Delhi: Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA) and Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday to strengthen their collaboration in the areas of capacity building, education, research, and consulting related to internal security, financial crimes, law enforcement, corporate frauds, and other relevant subjects, said the Ministry of Corporate Affairs in a statement. The MoU aims to leverage the professional capabilities of both institutions and facilitate the exchange of knowledge and resources, it added.

Kumar focused on the severity of corporate frauds

In a virtual address, Praveen Kumar, Director General and CEO of IICA, emphasised the severity of corporate frauds and their detrimental impact on the nation's economic health, considering the involvement of significant public funds. He expressed the collective vision of IICA and RRU to safeguard the country's economic security by providing training and upskilling opportunities for stakeholders from banks, financial institutions, investigating agencies, and professionals in the financial landscape.

A strong financial system is fundamental to good governance: Patel

Prof (Dr) Bimal Patel, Vice-Chancellor of RRU, highlighted the critical role of economic and financial security in national security, emphasising that a strong financial system is fundamental to good governance, said the statement. He stressed the need to equip stakeholders in the financial and corporate sectors, as well as law enforcement personnel, with the necessary skills to detect and prevent financial crimes. The collaboration between IICA and RRU is seen as a significant step towards reinforcing the nation's existing financial system, it added.

Partnership between IICA & RRU aims to enhance understanding & capabilities of professionals

The MoU was signed by Prof (Dr) Naveen Sirohi from IICA, who shared the purpose statement of the collaboration. Dr Dimpal T Raval, Director School of National Security and Law from RRU, proposed the vote of thanks and articulated the action plan. This partnership between IICA and RRU aims to enhance the understanding and capabilities of professionals in dealing with internal security issues, financial crimes, and corporate frauds. Through joint research, training programmes, and consultancy, the institutions seek to contribute to the economic security and overall well-being of the country.
