New Delhi: State-run Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) on Thursday reported a 10 per cent growth in net profit to Rs 1,927 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year on improved core income. The NBFC, under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways, had earned a net profit of Rs 1,746 crore in the year-ago period.

The company's total income rose to Rs 8,391 crore in the April-June period from Rs 6,918 crore a year ago, IRFC said in a regulatory filing.
However, the interest income declined to Rs 1,148 crore as against Rs 1,497 crore in the same period a year ago.
Lease income during the quarter improved to Rs 7,094 crore from Rs 5,404 crore in the year-ago period.
The total expenses of the Navratna company during the period under review fell marginally to Rs 6,464 crore from Rs 5,173 crore in the corresponding period of FY25.
Net interest margin moderated to 1.48 per cent from 1.53 per cent in the corresponding period of the previous financial year, it said.
"Q1 FY27 marks a strong start to the year with the Corporation delivering its highest-ever quarterly revenue, net worth and profitability. These results reaffirm the robustness of IRFC's diversification strategy under IRFC 2.0 and our continued discipline in maintaining a zero-NPA, high-quality asset book," Chairman and Managing Director Manoj Kumar Dubey said.
IRFC remains focused on deepening its presence across the mobility and other allied sectors having backward and forward linkage with railways in line with the whole-of-government approach, he added.
The company's net worth rose to a record Rs 58,792 crore from Rs 56,749 crore at the end of June 30, 2025.

Assets Under Management (AUM) stood at Rs 4.79 lakh crore as on June 30, 2026, as against Rs 4.85 lakh crore as on March 31, 2026, it said.
