New Delhi: KPM Swamy is set to be the man who will run the Navratna PSU NBCC (India) Limited. Swamy's name has been recommended by the public sector head hunter body PESB on Wednesday, June 21. Early this year in February only, Swamy was elevated as the Director (Commercial) of the PSU under the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. Prior to this elevation, Swamy was serving as Senior Executive Director and RBG Head in the same organisation.
The public Enterprises Selection Board interviewed as many as nine executives apart from Swamy. The candidates appeared for the interview included
Tadi Lakshmi Narayan Reddy, Managing Director, Hindustan Steelworks Construction Limited
Mahesh Chand Bansal, Senior Executive Director, NBCC (India) Limited
Mrityunjay Pratap Ssingh, Executive Director, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL)
Saroj Kanta Patra, Executive Director, Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. (RVNL)
Anil Kumar Gupta, Executive Director, Airports Authority of India (AAI)
Akash Gupta, Executive Director, Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR)
Yatender Kumar, Additional General Manager, Indian Railways Service of Electrical Engineering, and
Rajesh Kumar Pathak, Secretary, Indian P&T Accounts and Finance Service.
At his previous role, Swamy was looking after the implementation of the Hon'ble Supreme Court-monitored stalled Amrapali projects and 7 GPRA redevelopment projects for NBCC. He also served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of HSCL, a subsidiary of NBCC, where he successfully turned around the loss-making company into a profit-making Miniratna company.
Having varied experience spanning over 30 years, Swamy has spearheaded critical divisions of NBCC such as law, business development, HRM, CPG, finance etc in various capacities. He has also successfully handled high-value, state-of-the-art NBCC projects in diversified sectors such as healthcare, office and educational institutions, irrigation, infrastructure, indo-pak border fencing etc. since he joined NBCC back in 2005.
