New Delhi: The regional labour commissioner prevented a strike at Chhattisgarh Gramin Bank in Raipur by settling a dispute involving 2,610 employees, the Union labour ministry said on Thursday.

The dispute arose following a proposed one-day strike call on June 29, 2026, by the Chhattisgarh unit of the All India Regional Rural Bank Employees' Association (AIRRBEA) over several long-pending demands.

The strike was withdrawn after a marathon conciliation process carried out by the Regional Labour Commissioner (Central), Raipur, involving the bank management and representatives of the employees' unions.

A tripartite memorandum of settlement was executed under Section 53(3) of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, leading to the withdrawal of the proposed strike, the ministry said in a statement.
