MCL hosts consumer meet 2026, reaffirms focus on quality coal supply and consumer satisfaction

New Delhi/Sambalpur: Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) on Tuesday organised Consumer Meet–2026 at its headquarters under the chairmanship of Chairman-cum-Managing Director (CMD) Uday Anant Kaole, reaffirming its commitment to a consumer-centric, transparent and technology-driven operational approach.

Addressing stakeholders, the CMD emphasised that consumers remain central to MCL’s operational philosophy. He highlighted the company’s sustained investments in rail and road infrastructure, First Mile Connectivity (FMC) projects and mechanised systems aimed at ensuring seamless coal evacuation, efficient despatch and consistent quality supply.

Kaole reiterated MCL’s focus on timely coal despatch, quality assurance and service efficiency to support the energy needs of consumers and strengthen long-term partnerships.

The meet witnessed the presence of the company’s senior leadership, including Director (HR) Keshav Rao, Director (Finance) AK Behura, Director (Technical) SK Jha, Area General Managers, Heads of Departments and other senior officials, underscoring MCL’s leadership-driven approach towards consumer engagement.

Discussions during the meet covered key aspects of the coal supply chain, mining operations, labour management and coal delivery mechanisms. The Marketing & Sales and Quality Control departments showcased improvements in operational performance and the adoption of advanced technologies such as mechanical augers, automatic mechanical coal samplers and digital quality monitoring systems.

Consumers were also briefed about MCL’s digital Consumer Feedback System, accessible through a QR code, enabling real-time feedback and efficient grievance redressal. Consumer representatives appreciated MCL’s consistent coal quality, timely despatch and customer-focused initiatives.

Senior representatives from major coal consumers, including NTPC, Jindal Power Limited, Adani Group, APGENCO, Hindalco and Haldia Energy Limited, participated in the meet and shared constructive feedback, expressing confidence in MCL’s responsive and collaborative approach.
