On his arrival at the SECL headquarters, Dubey paid floral tribute at the Coal Miners’ Memorial and acknowledged the contribution of coal workers towards nation-building and ensuring India’s energy security.

Chairing a review meeting at the headquarters, the Minister assessed SECL’s performance in areas including coal production and dispatch, quality management, mine safety, coal gasification, mine closure, environmental initiatives, digitisation, CSR activities and future plans. SECL Chairman-cum-Managing Director Harish Duhan, functional directors, senior ministry officials and company officers were present during the meeting.

Dubey emphasised the need for safe and sustainable mining practices, improved operational efficiency and greater adoption of modern technologies. He said SECL continues to play a significant role in strengthening the country’s energy security and appreciated the company’s efforts in production, quality management, safety and environmental responsibility.

He also stressed that CSR initiatives should focus on ensuring that the benefits of development and welfare schemes reach people living in coalfield regions.

Speaking during the meeting, SECL CMD Harish Duhan said that during the ongoing financial year 2026-27, the company has contributed 26.86 million tonnes towards Coal India Limited’s production milestone of 100 million tonnes achieved so far. He reiterated SECL’s commitment to meeting the country’s energy requirements under the guidance of the Ministry of Coal.

The newly launched e-DADAS portal will digitalise the process of examination, monitoring and approval of engineering designs and drawings related to FMC systems, CHP-Silos, railway sidings, in-pit conveyor systems and other infrastructure projects. According to the company, the portal is expected to improve transparency and ensure time-bound project execution.
