New Delhi: NBCC (India) Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC), under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, for the comprehensive renovation and redevelopment of the iconic Siri Fort Auditorium complex in New Delhi.
NBCC, a Navratana PSU under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has shared this information in a regulatory filing to exchanges on Thursday. However, the total project-cost has not been disclosed by the company.
Under the agreement signed on July 2, NBCC will act as the Project Management Consultant (PMC) and will oversee the entire execution of the project, from conceptualisation to commissioning.
The redevelopment plan aims to transform the Siri Fort Auditorium Complex into a state-of-the-art cultural destination while preserving its historic and cultural legacy. The project will be carried out in full compliance with heritage norms, green building protocols, and other regulatory codes. The 5.5-acre site will be upgraded with modern infrastructure designed to enhance public accessibility and experience.
"Under the proposed design, Siri Fort’s built-up area will expand to more than 20000 square metres approximately, with a maximum permissible building height of 26 metres. The facility will be developed within a Floor Area Ratio (FAR) of 1.2 and will conform to international green building benchmarks such as LEED, IGBC, and GRIHA, reflecting India’s firm commitment to sustainable architecture and climate responsibility," NFDC said in an official statement.
The initiative is envisioned to position Siri Fort as a world-class venue that supports India's growing creative ecosystem and promotes cultural engagement.
