The move is aimed at unlocking value from operational national highway assets as part of the Government of India’s broader asset monetization strategy focused on mobilising capital for infrastructure development, encouraging private sector participation, and accelerating the expansion and modernization of the National Highway network.

According to NHAI, the tentative list excludes assets proposed to be monetized through the Raajmarg Infra Investment Trust (RIIT) during FY27.

The identified highway assets have a combined length of 1,692.5 km and comprise 17 projects spread across nine states — Haryana, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Maharashtra. The authority said these assets represent key economic and logistics corridors with established traffic potential and strategic connectivity significance.

NHAI noted that publishing the tentative list in advance would help investors and bidders plan their investments more efficiently. The list of projects has been uploaded on the official website of NHAI https://nhai.gov.in.

The monetization exercise will be carried out through transparent and structured mechanisms under the TOT and InvIT frameworks, which have emerged as successful models for attracting long-term institutional investment into highway infrastructure.

According to the authority, the initiative also underlines NHAI’s commitment towards developing a modern, resilient, and sustainable National Highway network aimed at supporting economic growth, improving logistics efficiency, and ensuring seamless connectivity across the country.
