NHPC, ENGIE announce signing of PPA with GUVNL for two 200-MW solar projects

NHPC Limited and ENGIE have announced the signing of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with GUVNL for two solar projects of 200 MW each

New Delhi: State-run NHPC Limited and ENGIE have announced the signing of Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for two solar projects of 200 MW each. NHPC said in a statement that it has signed a PPA with GUVNL for 200 MW capacity solar project within Gujarat State Electricity Corporation’s renewable energy park at Khavda.

“The estimated financial implication for the project would be Rs 846.66 crore. The scheduled completion period for the project is 15 months from the date of execution of PPA,” it said.

“The 200 MW Solar PV project marks ENGIE’s fourth solar project in the state of Gujarat, showcasing ENGIE’s expertise and leadership in the renewable energy sector. Leveraging advanced technologies and innovative solutions, ENGIE remains dedicated to delivering high quality, reliable, and sustainable energy solutions to communities across India,” said ENGIE in a separate statement. The bidding process by GUVNL took place on February 2 this year with ENGIE securing 200 MW at a competitive tariff of Rs 2.62 per unit.
