New Delhi: State-run Navratna company NLC India Limited has awarded a Rs 60.90-crore order to Supreme Power Equipment Ltd (SPEL) for the supply of inverter duty transformers, marking the first-ever collaboration between the two entities.
The order, which was officially placed on May 26, is expected to be executed within a timeline of approximately six months, according to an official statement released by SPEL on Wednesday.
The project involves the supply of inverter duty transformers, which are crucial for both renewable and thermal power applications, ensuring efficient conversion and conditioning of power output for grid integration and stable distribution—key elements in NLC India’s energy infrastructure expansion.
Welcoming the development, SPEL Chairman and Managing Director Vee Rajmohan said, “We see this as the beginning of a long-term and strategic relationship with NLC India, and we are fully committed to strengthening this partnership in the years ahead.” He added that the order serves as a strong endorsement of the company’s engineering capabilities and aligns with its vision of becoming a trusted partner in India’s growing power infrastructure ecosystem.
Based in Tamil Nadu, Supreme Power Equipment Ltd is engaged in the design and manufacturing of power and distribution transformers and has been expanding its footprint in the public sector procurement space.
NLC India Ltd, a Navratna public sector enterprise under the Ministry of Coal, has been actively advancing its energy portfolio with a mix of conventional and renewable energy projects.
