The Design Clinic Facility offers a structured and strategic approach to design, equipping startups with expert mentorship to help transform creative ideas into viable, market-ready products. It is envisioned as a catalyst for innovation, with the potential to enhance design outcomes and improve the commercial viability of products across sectors.

Speaking about the launch, NRDC officials emphasized the role of design thinking in today’s dynamic market landscape. “This facility will serve as a valuable resource for entrepreneurs and innovators by bridging the gap between ideation and execution, thereby contributing to India’s growing innovation ecosystem,” the organisation said in a statement.

Established in 1953 by the Government of India, NRDC plays a critical role in the promotion, development, and commercialization of technologies and know-how originating from national R&D institutions and universities. Over the decades, NRDC has developed strong linkages with the scientific and industrial community, both within India and internationally.

With its new Design Clinic Facility, NRDC aims to further strengthen its support to the startup ecosystem by making cutting-edge design knowledge and expertise more accessible to early-stage enterprises. The initiative reflects NRDC’s ongoing commitment to empowering innovators and driving technological advancement in the country.

For more information, NRDC has also released a detailed brochure outlining the objectives and services offered under the Design Clinic Facility.
