NTPC commissions additional solar capacities at Khavda; total installed capacity reaches 89,057 MW

New Delhi: NTPC Limited on Tuesday announced the commissioning of additional solar power capacities at its Khavda projects in Gujarat, taking the total installed capacity of the NTPC Group to 89,057 MW.

According to the filing, NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a step-down subsidiary, has declared the Commercial Operation Date (COD) for two solar project capacities effective March 31, 2026.

The company has commissioned the 12th and final part capacity of 78.02 MW out of the 1,255 MW Khavda-I Solar PV Project. Additionally, the sixth part capacity of 90 MW out of the 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project has also been made operational.

With the latest additions, NTPC’s commercial capacity has reached 87,977 MW, further strengthening its renewable energy portfolio as the company continues to scale up its green energy footprint.
