The capacity will be used to supply green ammonia to Krishana Phoschem Limited at Meghnagar, Madhya Pradesh. NTPC REL emerged as the successful bidder for the entire quantity offered in the auction, at a discovered price of Rs 51.80 per kg, the company said in a stock exchange filing dated August 4, 2025.

This award is part of SECI’s larger tender for 7.24 lakh MTPA of green ammonia across 13 locations in the country.

Following the announcement, shares of NTPC Green Energy opened at Rs 105.71 on Tuesday. The stock touched a high of Rs 105.94 before declining to Rs 105 during intraday trade.

JV project partially commissioned

In a separate disclosure, NGEL informed exchanges that a 75 MW block (Lot-5) of the 500 MW solar project being developed by IRCON Renewable Power Limited (IRPL) has achieved commercial operation from midnight on August 6, 2025.

IRPL is a joint venture of Ayana Renewable Power Pvt. Ltd., which in turn is a wholly owned subsidiary of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited — a joint venture between NTPC Green Energy and ONGC. This marks cumulative commissioning of 300 MW out of the total planned 500 MW capacity at the site.
