New Delhi: Power major NTPC Limited has declared 160 MW capacity out of 320 MW Bhainsara Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, operational on Thursday. In a regulatory filing to the stock exchanges, NTPC said, “Consequent upon successful commissioning and due approvals, first part capacity of 160 MW out of 320 MW Bhainsara Solar PV Project in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan of NTPC REL, a stepdown subsidiary of NTPC Limited through its wholly owned subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited, is declared on Commercial Operation w.e.f. 28.08.2024.”
“With this, the total installed and commercial capacity of NTPC group has now become 76,294 MW,” said NTPC.
NTPC is planning its capacity expansion so as to ensure that its fossil and non-fossil mix is 60:40 by 2032. The PSU plans to have a green energy portfolio of 60 GW by 2032. Currently, it has over 11 GW of renewable energy and hydro projects under construction, and a strong pipeline of over 20 GW in various stages of tendering.
