New Delhi: In a major milestone for India's renewable energy sector, the Gandhar Solar PV Project, developed by NTPC (National Thermal Power Corporation), will successfully commission its second part, adding 10 MW of capacity to the project, said the Maharatna PSU in a regulatory filing. The commercial operation of this additional capacity officially commenced on June 7 at 12 hours, said the filing.

1st part of the Gandhar Solar project commenced operations on Aug 23, 2022

This achievement follows the earlier declaration of the first part of the project, consisting of 10 MW, which commenced commercial operation on August 23, 2022. With the full commissioning of the Gandhar Solar PV Project, NTPC's standalone installed and commercial capacity is set to reach an impressive 56,378 MW. Furthermore, when considering the group installed and commercial capacity of NTPC, the figure climbs even higher to an impressive 72,364 MW.

NTPC, a leading power utility company in India, has been making substantial strides in renewable energy, including solar and wind power projects, to diversify its energy sources and reduce its carbon footprint. The addition of 10 MW from the second part of the Gandhar Solar PV Project solidifies NTPC's commitment to sustainable and eco-friendly energy generation.
