New Delhi: Oil India Limited (OIL) on Monday announced that its wholly owned subsidiary, OIL Green Energy Limited (OGEL), has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Numaligarh Refinery Limited (NRL) to collaborate on the development, procurement and supply of renewable energy.

The agreement, signed on Monday, aims to address group captive energy requirements while strengthening the companies’ focus on clean energy adoption. The MoU was formalised by senior officials of OGEL and NRL in the presence of top leadership from both organisations, including the Chairman and Managing Director of OIL, who also serves as Chairman of NRL, along with directors and senior executives.

The collaboration marks a key milestone in OIL’s strategic push towards integrating renewable energy into its core operations. It is expected to enable OGEL to diversify and scale up its renewable energy portfolio while supporting the energy requirements of group entities.
The initiative aligns with OIL’s target of achieving net zero emissions by 2040 and contributes to the Government of India’s broader goal of attaining net zero by 2070.
