Oil India, CSIR-IMMT sign MoU for joint R&D in critical minerals

This agreement aims to advance collaborative R&D projects aligned with the objectives of the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM)

New Delhi: Oil India Limited (OIL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CSIR-Institute of Minerals and Materials Technology (CSIR-IMMT) to undertake joint research and development (R&D) in the field of critical minerals.

According to an official statement, this agreement aims to advance collaborative R&D projects aligned with the objectives of the National Critical Mineral Mission (NCMM). CSIR-IMMT has been designated as the Centre of Excellence for critical minerals under the mission.

The MoU has been signed on Monday by OIL’s Director (Exploration & Development) and the Director of CSIR-IMMT in the presence of senior leadership, including the Chairman and Managing Director of OIL, along with functional directors and scientists from both organisations.

The collaboration is expected to facilitate focused research initiatives in the critical minerals domain, supporting India’s strategic efforts to secure key mineral resources essential for energy transition and advanced technologies.
