OSPC joins hands with SAIL, Rourkela Steel to launch its Rourkela Zonal Chapter

The collaboration of OSPC and SAIL will contribute to the growth and development of the region

Odisha: Odisha State Productivity Council (OSPC), in collaboration with SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP), launched its Rourkela Zonal Chapter in a function organised at Indo-German Club on October 17, according to an official release by RSP.

Atanu Bhowmick, Director-in-Charge of RSP and Bokaro Steel Plant, graced the occasion as the chief guest, while Ashok Tripathy, president of OSPC and independent director, SAIL, Dr Shubhankar Mohapatra, ADM Rourkela and Trijib Chandra Hota, Vice President of OSPC were present on the dais.

Soon after the launching of the chapter by Bhowmick, Ashok Tripathy declared S R Suryawanshi, ED (Works), RSP as the president of the Rourkela Zonal Chapter and vice-president of OSPC.

Thanking OSPC for choosing him as the president of the Rourkela Zonal Chapter, Suryawanshi expressed his commitment to take the organisation forward and making a positive impact on the industrial map of the region.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by P K Sahoo, ED (Projects) Somnath Tripathy, ED (MM), Tarun Misra, ED (P&A), Alok Verma, ED (Mines), A K Behuria, ED (F&A), Sunil Kayal, President, Rourkela Chamber of Commerce and amp, industries (RCCI), other members of OSPC, members of RCCI, CGMs and other senior officials from RSP and entrepreneurs from Rourkela and nearby places.

Speaking on the occasion, Atanu Bhowmick said, “Productivity is nothing but efficiency and the higher the efficiency, the more is the output and profitability. We need to work towards improving our productivity as well as profit margins by making the productions more cost effective.”, said the official release.

Ashok Tripathy deliberated on the future course of actions of OSPC and suggested ways to make the Rourkela Zonal Chapter a vibrant and effective organisation. Shubhankar Mohapatra emphasized on improving productivity to make Rourkela a better city. He also ensured all support to RSP in creating better opportunities for industry and enterprise.

Trijib Chandra Hota, elaborated on the genesis and journey of OSPC. Subrat Kumar, CGM (CRM, SSM, and PPs), RSP welcomed the gathering, said the official release.

The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by the dignitaries. Debabrata Dash, Senior member of OSPC proposed the formal vote of thanks and Ankita Bilung, Sr. Mgr. (R&C Lab), RSP co-ordinated the event.

The event provided an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate the collaboration of OSPC and SAIL, which will undoubtedly contribute to the growth and development of the region's industrial landscape.
