The board granted "approval for upgradation of SCADA and Associated Systems of NTAMC/RTAMC at an estimated cost of Rs 485.04 Crore," the company said in the filing.
SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems form the technology backbone of PowerGrid's National Transmission Asset Management Centre (NTAMC) and Regional Transmission Asset Management Centres (RTAMCs), through which the company remotely operates and monitors its transmission substations across the country.

The board also approved "availing Unsecured Term Loan Facility in Japanese Yen (JPY) 80 billion from JBIC and Participating Financial Institutions," the filing said.
JBIC, Japan's state-backed policy lender, has been steadily expanding its exposure to India's power sector. In August 2025, it signed a loan agreement of up to JPY 60 billion with Power Finance Corporation, co-financed with Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation and other Japanese banks, under a credit line signed in January 2025 for renewable energy and next-generation energy supply projects. PFC had earlier signed a JPY 30-billion facility with JBIC in July 2022 under the lender's GREEN initiative to finance its renewable energy portfolio.
