The project, titled “Transmission system for evacuation of power from Pumped Storage Projects in Sonbhadra District, Uttar Pradesh,” will be executed on a Build, Own, Operate and Transfer (BOOT) basis. The company received the Letter of Intent (LoI) on September 4, 2025.

As part of the project scope, Power Grid will establish a new 765/400 kV pooling sub-station, undertake bay extension works at other upcoming substations, and construct associated 765 kV transmission lines within the state.

Power Grid, a Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Power, is a leading power transmission utility responsible for operating about 90 percent of India’s interstate and inter-regional electric power transmission system.
