PowerGrid posts net profit of Rs 2,571.10 cr in Q2 of FY20

New Delhi: PowerGrid Corporation of India Limited (PGCIL), a 'Maharatna' Enterprise under Ministry of Power, has posted a net profit of Rs 2,571.10 crores for Q2 of FY 2019-20 (Jul-Sep, 2019), an increase of 9 percent against Rs 2,348.25 crores reported during the corresponding Q2 of FY2018-19.

Total Income (turnover) of PowerGrid for Q2 (Jul-Sep, 2019) rose to Rs 9,260.46 crores, up by 6 percent from Rs 8,718.20 crores in the corresponding quarter ended September 30, 2018. Total Income for first half of financial year 2019 – 20 rose to Rs 18,622.18 crores, an increase of 9 percent over Rs 17094.68 crores reported during the corresponding half-year ended September 30, 2018. On a standalone basis, PowerGrid had registered a net profit of Rs 4,955.03 crores on a total income (turnover) of Rs 18,411.55 crores during the half-year ended September 30.

PowerGrid's physical assets as on September 30 include more than 160,937 km transmission lines, 244 sub-stations with transformation capacity of more than 383,273 MVA.
